Teacher resources » Class generated skill posters, strategies, etc. ( anchor charts )
Here are some class posters I have made on my own or with the kids help in several different subjects. I will add to this page over the year. Anchor charts are meant to be created with students on large chart paper or tagboard. Students should take ownership to be co-creators. That way the charts can be customized to suit your current students needs and they can use their own language. Once completed these should be easily located and accessible in your classroom. I like to have the reading comp. ones near my reading group table. Charts can be re created and made into 8 1/2 X 11 dittos for them to refer back to in a reading or writer's workshop folder. Teachers should refer back to anchor charts often throughout reading groups or writer's workshop. Here are some examples of ideas/topics to use when creating anchor charts with your class: Where good readers read What good writing look like What fluent readers look like How to generate ideas for writing How to add detail Writing checklist Making inferences synthesizing schema ways to choose books This site created and maintained by Vicky Moore 2007-2010
